The Prime Minister is to set out plans for the UK to be a world leader in green transport and battery technology, reiterating plans for all cars and vans to be “effectively” zero emission by 2040. Theresa May is using the Zero Emission Vehicle Summit to announce her intention for the country to become a world leader in future transport, with a £106million funding boost for green vehicles, new batteries and low-carbon tech. She is also expected to announce £500million of investment from a number of companies, with 1,000 UK jobs being created.
It's the black cab which is often mistaken for a Bentley or a royal vehicle - and you'll be seeing it on Liverpool's streets….And while the outside of the cab certainly turns heads, inside it also has all the mod cons such as WiFi and phone charging points. Proud owner Colin Woods, who has been a city taxi driver for 11 years, said: “It looks like a Bentley and it drives like a Bentley….“It’s also much cheaper to run and is a better experience for passengers because it just glides over bumps in the road.”

Fifth Gear’s Jonny Smith reviews the TX, and tries to convince a number of London Cab drivers to make the change to a cleaner vehicle, noting the huge fuel savings and quieter operating environment.
Sales of electric vehicles reached a record high last month, accounting for one in every 12 new cars purchased in the UK. The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders (SMMT) said hybrid, plug-in hybrid and pure electric cars made up 8% of the overall market. The number of total vehicles registered was up 23% on the same period in 2017.
